Tidewood  ·  A private bay resort

Where the forest
meets the tide.

Sixteen villas folded into a hillside of palm and stone, above a bay that keeps its own quiet.

SCROLL

Every room opens to the water. Every path bends around a tree we chose not to move. Tidewood was built the way a garden grows — slowly, around what was already here.

Sixteen villas. One bay. No two mornings alike.

Grown, not built — a decade among these trees.

Before the first stone was laid, we spent two years simply walking the land — learning which trees held the hillside together, which streams fed the bay. Tidewood was fitted around those answers, not the other way round.

Sleep with the tide in view.

Timber, linen and stone, left mostly bare so the view can do the talking. Sliding walls fold fully away — the reef breeze moves straight through the room.

Open-air villa living room with sheer curtains and infinity pool beyond

A pool that forgets where it ends.

The infinity edge holds level with the horizon by design — from the loungers, the bay and the pool read as one water.

Dinner, under the canopy.

A single long table set beneath the trees each evening, lit by lanterns and whatever light the sunset leaves behind. The kitchen follows the tide and the harvest, not a printed menu.

Open-air dining pavilion in the jungle at golden hour

A short walk to slower breathing.

A stone path follows the stream from the gardens down to the water pavilions — two stops, no schedule required.

The Bathing House

Nature, at close range.

The bay and the hillside behind it are the real amenities. A few ways to spend a morning in them.

Rainforest Canopy Walk

A guided hour through the hillside trails, ending at a lookout over the whole bay.

Sunrise Kayak to the Reef

Paddle out along the mangrove shoreline before the light turns white.

Garden-to-Table Foraging

Walk the kitchen gardens with the chef before dinner, basket in hand.

Stargazing on the Point

An evening out on the headland, well past the reach of any light but the moon.

Left mostly in their own words.

We stopped checking our phones by the second morning. The sound of the water pavilions did what a spa menu usually promises and rarely delivers.

The staff learned how we liked our coffee on day one and never asked again. Small thing, but it told us how the whole place is run.

Dinner under the trees on our last night, with nothing else scheduled — that's the memory. Already planning when we can come back.
